Does it help to have others join us in prayer? Are our lone prayers heard as well as the prayers of a group? Yes, our individual prayers are heard—just as a lovely solo is heard—and this may be all that is needed to give us instant peace. Yet, there may be times of fear or confusion when we are unable to pray as confidently as we would like. At such times the prayers of others are helpful.
One candle is seen and one candle may be sufficient—but many candles can make a tremendous difference. Know that many are praying daily for world peace and for prosperity, health, and life more abundant for all.
Pray alone and pray with others, for prayer is a mighty power that works seeming miracles in our world.
To love God is to love good, for God is Absolute Good. Love God in your every experience. Love God in every person you meet. Love God in everything you see. By doing so, you are loving the good.
If there is a temptation to recognize or believe in negation, if there is a temptation to be doubtful or fearful, calmly remind yourself that you love God.
Dwell in the love of God. God will guide your steps and bring abundant good into your life. God is with you always.
Do you ever feel that you are not needed or that you are unimportant? The truth is that you are a necessary and an important part of God’s good world. There is something for you to contribute to life that only you can give. You are created to fulfill God’s purposes for you.
If you think you don’t know the purpose for your life, do two things.
First of all, pray that your mind is illumined. Pray that you will get some direction and guidance from within so that you will know that you are on the right path.
Secondly, affirm that God’s Spirit is working through you at all times wherever you are. You will soon find that you are blessing all whom you contact. In fact, it is impossible to know all the good that we do when we realize that God is working through us.
You are an important part of God’s loving creation. You are a needed and valuable part of God’s good world.
Practice is the price of attainment, and practice makes perfect. The practice principle works in both positive and negative ways, depending on which you choose. If you rehearse your aches and pains, your body will produce more. If you practice thinking and speaking of economic recessions and depressions, your finances will show the negative effects. If you practice complaining of the injustice you have endured, you open the door for other similar experiences. These negative practices have played havoc with many lives. Don’t let this happen to you.
If you have been unwise in your thoughts and words, deliberately reverse your course now. Begin dwelling upon and expressing only that which is good, true, and beautiful. Practice thinking and speaking of yourself as well and healthy, competent and efficient. Think and speak of your life in terms of prosperity and success. Think and speak of your relationships in terms of love, harmony, and understanding. Deliberately think positive, constructive, meaningful thoughts and speak powerful, good, beautiful words. What wonderful results you will experience!
Research in recent years has shown the beneficial effects of laughter on the healing process. Laughter comes from a joyous feeling of well-being that arises within us. Our sense of humor bears evidence of God’s love for us. Just as refreshing rain after a long dry spell washes away accumulated dirt and dust and revitalizes life in nature, so does laughter wash away pain and misery and cleanse the soul. For a balanced life, laughter is as essential to our soul as rain is to the earth.
Laughter is the result of being positive, not negative. Laughter is the result of looking up at the greatness and goodness of God instead of down at the negation of the world.
The writer of Proverbs states, “He who has a merry heart has a continual feast.” A happy heart finds it easy to laugh, thus attracting positive experiences and conditions as well as positive people.
