Gratitude

I PRAISE AND GIVE THANKS FOR GOD’S INFINITE LOVE THAT PROVIDES HEALTH, POWER, HARMONY, PEACE, JOY, ENTHUSIASM, AND ALL GOOD. I ACCEPT GOD’S GREAT GIFTS NOW.

Do you take for granted the good things that happen to you day by day? Do you express gratitude for the nice things people do for you?

Develop an attitude of thankfulness—otherwise, you may lose what you have. Thankfulness brings forth good responses from people. It opens the door for God to answer our prayers. It is an excellent way to receive added blessings.

God’s gifts are poured out upon you daily—health, power, harmony, peace, joy, enthusiasm, and many others. If you are not presently experiencing these gifts, it does not mean that you do not have them. Begin to thank God for these wonderful blessings and you will experience them. Thanking God for your gifts, even before they are visible, opens the door for them to come into your life.

Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. (Psalm 106:1)

Focus

I REFUSE TO WASTE MY TIME ON INDEFINITE ACTIVITIES. I KEEP MY ATTENTION UPON GOD’S CREATIVE SPIRIT WORKING THROUGH ME TO FULFILL MY PLANS.

Do you have trouble with distractions? Charles Fillmore advised, “Refuse to let discord or indefinite activities turn you aside from your one great purpose.”

Sometimes there seem to be so many little things going on around us that it is hard to keep our attention on what we originally hoped to accomplish. We find that our time is wasted—in both thought and action—on indefinite activities.

A strong commitment to stick to your purpose is a powerful aid. Once you are definite and determined, everything and everybody works together to enable you to complete what you set out to do.

Keep the thought of success in mind. Be so busy mentally and physically working toward success that the distractions around you have no effect. Be definite in your plans and plan to succeed. You will cease to have trouble with distractions.

Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men. (Proverbs 22:29)

Speak the Truth

Strength and wisdom flow through me, freeing me to build my good.

We do not want to be unkind, so often we say one thing but contradict it through our body language and facial expressions. We do not like to come right out and hurt the feelings of another, yet they are sometimes hurt even more by our actions and reactions over a long period of time.

It is wise to speak the truth—as kindly as possible, always—yet it is kind to make things perfectly clear.

We are never noble as we put up with an undesirable situation or an outgrown relationship. We do harm to ourselves and to all others concerned. How much better to make a definite decision, even if it does bring an end to something. To drag out a wrong circumstance does not improve it.

We need wisdom, and we need strength in releasing that which is not for our highest good. All the wisdom and strength we need are already within our being. Turn inward to the Fountainhead and be assured.

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. (Psalm 18:32)

My Job

I give thanks that I am able to do my job, and I am willing to help others IN TIME OF NEED.

The nature of employment, whether paid or volunteer, requires us to work for or with other people. Sometimes in the workplace, we see others failing to carry their end of the load. Ask yourself how you should react to this observation—by taking up the slack and lending a helping hand or sitting down and waiting for them to do their own work?

We never fully know how others’ problems are affecting them. Wouldn’t it be better to give them the benefit of the doubt and help out with a task even though they are supposed to do that part of the work? It will help move the job along, and you will feel better than if you criticize others and let the project drag.

A famous writer and editor, Elbert Hubbard, remarked, “Folks who never do any more than they get paid for never get paid for any more than they do.” If we make certain that we carry our own part of the job and also assist others who need help in catching up, we will be paid for it in more ways than one.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

Peace in Your Home

THE PEACE-GIVING PRESENCE OF THE CHRIST FILLS MY HOME, AND EVERY PERSON WHO ENTERS FEELS THE BLESSING OF THIS PEACE.

Make your home a habitation of the peace-giving Christ presence. Let only peace and harmony fill its room from wall to wall. Make your home a happy, restful place where each person who enters feels the presence of love and peace.

Be a center of calmness in your home; be peaceful and poised at all times. Radiate peace and harmony to all. Be gentle, kind, and courteous. Cooperate lovingly in your home, assuming the responsibilities that are yours.

Make your home the dwelling place of the Christ. This Presence abides within you and within every member of your family. This peace-giving Presence dwells within each heart.

My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. (Isaiah 32:18)
