Do you believe in luck? Did you know that what seems to be “a lucky break” is actually “a receiving” of what we have asked for? Nothing happens by chance. Whatever comes to us is the direct result of our asking and our belief.
With our attention centered on God within, good is bound to come to us. The focus of our thoughts will show up in our life and affairs.
Many people bemoan the fact that “Lady Luck” does not smile on them. They claim life is always short-changing them—nothing good ever comes to them. There is a pattern of failure throughout their affairs. They can be quite sure it will continue until they realize that they alone are responsible for their so-called luck.
As we mature in spiritual understanding, we take personal responsibility for our results in life. Relying on God’s power and guidance, we are assured of success in all our undertakings.
What exactly is a problem? It could rightly be defined as an unwelcome situation we would like to change—a condition to face honestly and squarely before deciding on a course of action. There is always a right decision to be made in order to eliminate what appears to be a challenge. As children of God, we hold the power of overcoming any negative condition.
If problems keep coming to us regularly, especially problems of the same nature, we need to do some spiritual housecleaning to rid ourselves of the attitudes and feelings that are drawing these situations to us. Perhaps a negative belief concerning money keeps us ever behind in meeting our financial obligations, or feelings of inadequacy keep us from success in work or relationships. As we center ourselves in God only, there will be no place for problems—only harmony, peace, and joy.
Don’t look at a problem as something that cannot be changed. Either the condition will change or our attitude concerning it will be altered as we place the whole situation in the care of our Divine Protector.
Jealousy is a thief, robbing us of our freedom to express naturally and fully. It takes away our peace of mind and contentment. And what utterly ridiculous things cause jealousy! It may be an unintentional slight from a friend, some imagined opposition, or at times a feeling of not belonging to the group. We may become envious by falsely believing that another has what we want or should have.
Let us become aware right now of the truth that there is abundant good for all. Good is unlimited; therefore it cannot used up by any one person. Let us not be haunted by pangs of jealousy, but rather let us know that all we truly desire is ours. As we center ourselves in the conscious awareness of God’s divine presence—and dwell on the permanence of everlasting good—petty grievances will fade away.
No one else can take your good from you. No one else can turn light into darkness or joy into disappointment—unless you permit it. You are alone in control of your mind and affairs.
Have you been deeply concerned about some mistake you have made in the past? Do you experience guilt feelings over something you have left undone—or something you have done that you feel you shouldn’t have?
If so, remind yourself that there is no limit to the freeing, forgiving love of God. No matter how many mistakes you have made, God’s forgiving love is able to erase them from your mind and the results from your life. All you must do is to be willing to give them up—to repent. Then all things can be made new!
No mistake can stand between you and God. God’s love can never be withdrawn from you. Open your mind and heart and allow God to direct your way into new and vital living experiences. Lift up your eyes to the Lord and let God’s love set you free to be all you are able to be.
No matter where we are or what we are doing, God’s presence is always with us.
God is with us as healing life—flowing in and through us, renewing, restoring, and strengthening our bodies. An awareness of God’s life fills us with vitality and energy.
God is with us as love, penetrating all barriers and bringing everything and everyone into divine order and harmony. As we let this love of God flow freely through us, we bless every person we meet.
God is with us as divine intelligence, revealing to us whatever we need to know. As we let God’s intelligence flow into our minds, we will always make wise decisions.
Let us experience God’s presence today with a grateful heart as we pray: “Father, we feel Your life flowing through our being, Your love lifting us into a greater awareness of our unity with all people, Your divine intelligence inspiring our minds. We give thanks that You are ever with us. Amen.”
