There are times when it is difficult to talk with others in a harmonious manner. Perhaps our words would only make them more upset at this particular time or even cause them to close us out altogether.
We can communicate with others in Spirit, however, and many times this proves to be the best way. We can surround the person we want to reach with thoughts of divine love. We can affirm harmony and peace between us.
Can doing this relieve tension between persons? Yes, for our thoughts are living things and can affect others. By sending loving and kind thoughts to others, we do communicate with them even though we may not speak a word or even be in the same room. Thoughts can travel around the world—and let us remember that they bring back to us just what we send out.
Perhaps there is a relationship that needs harmony today. Perhaps someone needs to be forgiven and released. Perhaps we need to ask for understanding from another. It is all but a thought away!
Holding on to an unpleasant thought is an unprofitable way to spend our time. Life is made miserable by dwelling on past mistakes and negative experiences.
Unhappy people are able to recite mistakes, slights, hurts, and all types of injustices they have experienced. Bitterness of any type deprives us of the opportunity to live effectively.
Let go of the past. Forgive those who seem to have hurt or wronged you. Forgive yourself, too, and remember that no one can hurt you without your consent.
Break down the walls of resistance between you and God’s blessings by letting go of the past. Make yourself ready for good by opening the door of your mind to an infilling of the beauty, joy, and love of God.

Are you always in a hurry? This way of doing things implies lack of order, method, and discipline.
Have you ever noticed how nature works? It is methodical and reliable, not rushed.
Hurry is encouraged because of a belief in lack of time. You have all the time there is. The use of your time, however, is a different matter.
Work with order, method, and discipline. Learn to stay focused and finish what you start. Refuse to be tardy. Plan your time so you will always be where you need to be, when you need to be there. Working in a methodical way will enable you to accomplish a great deal with a minimum amount of stress and strain.
God is never rushed and never late. Tune in to God’s way of doing things, and you will work with order and ease.
The practice of silence in prayer is essential to those who desire to improve their lives. Silence enables us to enter into “the secret place of the Most High” where outer sensations are stilled and our mind is closed to the inharmony and limitation of the world. Silence opens the way to inspiration from the mind of God. You will be led into an increasing awareness of the presence and power of God’s Spirit. You will be uplifted and blessed.

Begin each morning with a prayer of thanksgiving and close each day with a song of praise. We have been given so much to enjoy—the wonders of nature, the companionship of others, all the modern conveniences God has given us through the minds of other imaginative people. Life is so full of wonderful things, doesn’t it seem irreverent to gripe of boredom and drudgery?
If we are not enjoying life, we need to do something about it—and the sooner the better! If we are emotionally or spiritually sick, we will eventually be physically sick as well. If we dread getting out of bed in the morning, the day may come when we will be unable to get out of bed. Our thoughts make our world. We can chase dark thoughts from our mind by turning on the light of Truth. By holding to the truth that we are children of a loving God, our world will brighten before our eyes.
