It takes the same number of hours to read an inspiring book as it does one that simply passes the time. We can use our voices to bring hope and cheer or to spread gossip and discontent. We can use our energy to serve God or to cause inharmony. Which shall it be?
We would certainly never choose a rotten apple to eat instead of a good one. Yet we sometimes choose thoughts that are filled with decay and negativity. We would never deliberately choose a defective article over one that is perfect, and yet we allow confused, broken emotions to remain in our inner world longer than they should.
We must be consciously selective every waking minute, for that which we select becomes a living part of us.
Do you desire health, prosperity, right companionship, happiness? If so, carefully select thoughts of life, abundance, and divine love—and give thanks that all good is your divine heritage!
There are times when we do not see our way clearly, when some situation seems hopelessly tangled and involved, and no answer is in sight. However, there is a right way, a perfect solution to even the most complex situation.
Let us remind ourselves that we have within us God’s Spirit, which is capable of establishing order in all our affairs. Instead of dwelling on the seeming impossibility of solving the problems, we must have confidence that this power within us will open the way for the perfect, right solution.
Declare that divine order is established in all your affairs. Affirm that God’s Spirit within you knows the right and perfect way and is directing you toward it.

How often we are quick to judge others, not knowing why they are the way they are. We are told not to judge by appearances. Things are not always as they appear to be, and we cannot know from outer appearances alone the good that may be taking place in the invisible.
Why should we feel sorry for someone who is learning an important and valuable lesson? When a child is learning to walk, a fearful, over-protective, hovering adult may slow down the little one’s progress. Would any child ever learn to ride a bike if the parents got too emotionally involved over the first fall?
Let us learn to give others the freedom that God gives them. Surely our Creator loves us beyond our human understanding, yet we have the power of choice, the right to decide what our experiences shall be. In prayer, you can release concerns about others to their Creator, knowing they are always in God’s loving care.
It is our obligation to the world to uplift others all that we can. We can do so as we liberally sprinkle such words as hope, expect, good, confident, faith, and love in our daily conversations. Do you ever remember getting a tremendous lift from being in the presence of a positive person? Oftentimes it makes our day.
You can help make somebody’s day better by the words you use. Remember not to plant fear and failure in your mind, or in the minds of others, by using such expressions as, “I’m afraid I can’t go” or “I’m afraid such and such will happen.” Nor should we get into the habit of saying, “I hate to do this or that” or “I can’t do this or that.” These phrases of speech pull us down into depression eventually, as well as those around us.
Instead, choose uplifting words and consciously plant them today. Your blessings to others, and to yourself, will never cease.

A hammer can be used to break a fine piece of porcelain, or it can be used to build a home. Our imagination, if not controlled, can destroy friendship, cause riots, and bring much destruction—or this wonderful gift can inspire us to creative action and fruitful living.
It is with our imagination that we build new worlds, that we achieve the “unheard of.” We often hear it asked, “Can you imagine that?” Well, if we can imagine anything, the real work has already been done. For whatever we truly can imagine is but a step away from manifestation.
Can you imagine health? Picture yourself as an alive and vital person contributing to your world. You will be! Can you imagine prosperity for yourself? If not, why not? Can you really imagine your loving Creator denying you that which you need for happiness? Imagine and believe in your good and it is yours!
