How do you react when interrupted? Most everyone has numerous interruptions during the day, whether from phone calls, visitors, or unexpected events.
There are several ways we may react. We can become irritated and resentful and blame others for our inability to get things done. Or, we may welcome the excuse to leave a job unfinished that we’d rather not do. Superior to either of these reactions is one’s ability to meet interruptions creatively.
You can cut out unnecessary interruptions by declaring that divine order is established in and through all your affairs. Then, when you are interrupted expect a blessing. Ask yourself what new good is coming your way as a result of this interruption. When divine order is present in your affairs, you are only interrupted by that which serves to bless your life.
What is your goal for today? This week? This month? This year? If you have not taken the time and made the effort to define your goals, do so.
Then move toward your goals if you want to realize them.
Think of the fulfillment of your goal. Give your attention and your imagination to seeing the expected good. Speak along lines that are compatible with your goals. There is power in your spoken word. Act the part necessary to fulfilling your desired outcome. “Acting as if” is a real force that will hasten you along toward your goal.
Conduct your life in such a way that everything helps to move you toward your goals—your thoughts, your feelings, your words, and your actions. Steadily move toward your goals in this way and you will accomplish all that you desire in life.
We may read about the healing in someone else’s life and marvel about it. We may even talk with someone whose life has been completely transformed and restored. Yet we must go one step further and know that we too have the same life of God within us. We too can be healed, transformed, and restored in mind and body. We can change anything in our lives that needs to be changed. We do not have to stay the way we have been for the past ten, twenty, or even thirty years.
God-Life indwelling each one of us is ever trying to establish us in our original state of perfection. Perfection is what we really want. Yet we allow fears, false beliefs, and negation to be the anchor that holds us down. Let go! Ask the Christ Spirit within to take over and restore you to that which you are in Truth.
The message of Jesus Christ is one of love and forgiveness. We must be willing to accept His gift of forgiveness for ourselves and grant that same gift to others. No one needs to be controlled by the past. The forgiving love of God sets us free from all bondage to the past and its mistakes. There is no need for self-condemnation or regret.
This same forgiving love must operate in our mind and heart toward others. It is destructive to ourselves to condemn anyone or to hold unforgiving attitudes. Love and forgiveness of oneself and others is the key to a higher, wiser, more fulfilling way of life. This practice sets our mind at peace and our life in order.
Confidence is essential in order to live and work well. It is essential if we are to venture out and do great things.
There is a method that you can use to build confidence—that is by confiding in God. Talk over your ideas with God. Ask for guidance and direction in dealing with all that concerns you. When you do not have the answer, ask God to provide you with the understanding and insight that you need to act wisely. Listen and just the right ideas will come to your mind. You will be able to move on confidently, acting upon the idea received.
You can have confidence as you confide in God.
