Mind of God

I AM ONE WITH THE ALL-KNOWING MIND OF GOD. I THINK, I REMEMBER, I UNDERSTAND, AND I EXPRESS PERFECTLY.

The writer of Proverbs states, “Knowledge is easy to those who understand.” What is it that we need to understand? Simply that we have the capacity to tune in to that one all-knowing, all-intelligent Mind of God. As Emerson said, “There is one mind common to all.” This is the source from which we draw all the knowledge we need about anything that we require.

The Mind of God cannot decrease or diminish. It cannot be clouded or confused, turbulent or upset. Therefore, by learning to tune in to this Mind of God—in silence—your own mind will be bright, alert, and active.

Begin to claim the presence of God when you are seeking to learn something new, as well as in the day-to-day necessities of living. Refuse to allow your mind to remain cluttered with old, useless ways of thinking. You will be ready to proceed with a bright, alert, and vital mind.

Knowledge comes easily to a discerning person. (Proverbs 14:6)

Twenty-four Hours

I USE MY NEXT TWENTY-FOUR HOURS TO MOVE TOWARD THE FULFILLMENT OF MY FONDEST DREAMS AND DESIRES.

What use will you make of the next twenty-four hours? Will you spend any of this precious time bemoaning your lot in life?

You are right where you have put yourself. No one else did it for you. If you don’t like what you are experiencing, do something about it. Life can always be changed for the better—when you are willing.

Shake yourself free from thoughtless indulgences in resentment, self-pity, and discontent. Wake up from your lethargy and dullness. Refuse to think of yourself as limited in any way. Your life can be just as wonderful as you choose to make it.

Make constructive, meaningful use of your next twenty-four hours. This will act as the pattern for the following twenty-four.

You are a child of God, the offspring of the creative Spirit of the universe. Think like it, feel like it, plan like it, and act like it. What a wonderful twenty-four hours you will have!

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

Simplify

I SIMPLIFY MY LIFE BY GETTING RID OF NON-ESSENTIALS. I DO ONLY THAT WHICH IS GOOD FOR ME TO DO.

What do you have in your life that is serving no useful purpose? Most of us accumulate a lot of things we neither need nor use, and engage in activities simply from habit. We may fulfill unnecessary social engagements we do not enjoy and spend time with people with whom we have nothing in common.

There are many unnecessary things that people do—unnecessary phone calls, visits, meaningless chatter, discussions, and arguments—that should be eliminated. Release those things—material belongings and activities—which do not enrich life. Whatever adds to your well-being, to your real pleasure and upliftment in life, is not a waste of time. Anything that truly helps another person is not unnecessary.

Learn to eliminate non-essentials to have more time for those things that bless you and others. You will add meaning and purpose to your life.

So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

Diligent

I BLESS EACH TASK, GIVING THANKS FOR MY WORK. I BECOME MORE DILIGENT, FAITHFUL, AND SUCCESSFUL IN ALL THAT I UNDERTAKE.

Do you work diligently? That is, with an attentive, industrious attitude toward all that is yours to do? Or are you inclined to be careless and indifferent?

Let us realize that our work provides limitless opportunities to serve God. We are God’s instruments of good as we bless each task, giving thanks for our work and our abilities.

If we are willing to give up our lazy, slovenly habits of thinking and working and be diligent, we will be successful in all that we undertake. God will open even greater avenues through which we can express our gifts and through which we will receive rich rewards.

Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest. (Proverbs 6:6–8)

Do Your Best

I DO MY BEST TO FULFILL MY RESPONSIBILITIES. I PUT MY MIND, HEART, AND HANDS INTO MY WORK.

Are you doing your best? No matter how great or humble our calling, we should always do our best.

You dignify your work by putting your mind to it. You become vitalized when you pour your energy into a project. Seeking to do your best will keep you active and wide-awake. You will be alert and aware. Doing your best prepares you for something greater. Higher possibilities and greater opportunities always appear for those who do well with the work they now have.

Each day, in every moment, do the very best you can. Live according to your highest understanding. Seek more understanding daily so that growth is assured.

God has created you to accomplish special things. As you recognize that you are a part of God’s plan, you will want to do your best in whatever you undertake. Doing so will glorify God in the world and in your life.

For God is at work in you. (Philippians 2:13)
