Wonderful ideas for the accomplishment of tremendous good come to each of us at times. What is your response when God speaks to you through an idea or a flash of insight? Do you accept it, give thanks for it, and do all that you can to bring it forth? Or do you try to reason out why it would or wouldn’t work? Do you wonder if you are strong enough or have the ability to carry it out? Do you discuss the idea with others and let them tell you it can’t be done, or at least certainly not by you.
Don’t dismiss any divinely inspired idea or insight. It came to you for a reason. You do not have to proceed by human strength alone, for guidance will be given you by the Father within. Faith is a magnet which will draw to us all that is necessary for our success as we seek to be a channel for good. Remember that you are filled with the power of God’s Spirit, and through this power all things are possible.
Do you ever feel that life is working against you? Do you wonder why certain things happen to you? Do you believe you have no control over your life? It is important to realize that our life experiences do not happen to us, but through us. Life is not like a movie played before our eyes over which we have no control. We create our life experience by the careful choice of thoughts and feelings.
All the world may be a stage, but we are more than merely players, and certainly more that spectators. We function like the projectionist who takes movies and projects them into visibility. Consider the thoughts of your conscious and subconscious mind as images on film. The musical score is determined by your feelings. Our mind’s eye is like the projector that creates the movie experience the projectionist desires.
What kind of images are you projecting? Tragedies or comedies? Soap operas or joyous musicals? Exciting adventures or boring reruns? If you want to change your life experience, start by changing the thoughts and feelings you project. No one else can do this for you. Follow the advice of Paul: “Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely…think on these things.” By thinking these thoughts we project them into the kind of life we desire.
Do you feel unable to fulfill your desires? If so, it is time you learned the secret of power. At your fingertips is all the power there is—and that is the very power of God.
No longer need you attempt to go on with just your own strength. Use the supreme power of God; it is your natural inheritance—yours when you desire, ever available, as free as the air you breathe. Partake of this gift that God so generously offers. Take time to realize that you possess this power. You will begin to demonstrate its force in your life.
Plan right now to fulfill the deep desires of your heart. Affirm the presence of this God-power within you. Look to it for the help that you need. Plan the success you have always wanted. You have adequate power to achieve this success, plus much more.
Are you kind, thoughtful, and gracious in all your dealings with other people? Let us translate the spirit of love as expressed by Christ into words and deeds of cheer and kindness. What a blessing it is to others to have someone interested in them, someone to encourage them. Let us look beyond their difficulties and bless them. Know that even now God’s unlimited wisdom, ability, love, and beauty are unfolding in everyone you meet. Take time to lighten the burden of others by your happiness, your vitality, and your enthusiasm for life.
The act of wholehearted praise and thanksgiving works miracles. Sometimes we believe that our lives must be in perfect order before we can give thanks, but this is not the case. Begin now to speak words of praise and thanksgiving to God. Take a moment to recall the special experiences of good that have come your way, and remember your day-to-day blessings as well.
Speak words of praise and thanksgiving to those around you. Look for the good and do not hesitate to express appreciation. Be sincere and wholehearted in your praise, and you will bring great joy into the lives of others.
Speak words of praise to yourself. Recognize not only your personal efforts but also the good work of your mind and body. Remember the words of Charles Fillmore: “You can praise a weak body into strength, a fearful heart into peace and trust, and shattered nerves into poise and harmony.”
With your whole heart, praise and give thanks to God today and every day.
