Many of our actions and patterns of living are determined by fear of disapproval, fear of loss, fear of bodily harm, or fear of aloneness. These often exercise a controlling influence over our lives.
Fear is a mental state of darkness denoting an absence of the quality of love. It is a particularly dangerous state, for the things we greatly and persistently fear eventually become our experience. The good news is that our life does not need to be dominated by fear and its negative results.
God has given you power over negative thoughts. You can cast out fear from your life by taking on love. Love releases us from the bondage to fear, and frees us to experience a real awareness of the absolute goodness of God.

The Word of God endures forever. Even though all else shall in time pass away, the Word of God shall not. No doubt this is the reason the teachings of Jesus have influenced billions of people during the past two thousand years—and are still spreading rapidly today.
Words of Truth have life and power and never die. Knowing this, let us begin to affirm words of Truth for ourselves and for others. Negative words may for a time seem to rule our world, but they are short-lived. False words and ideas have no reality; they are as ghosts or shadows that were only thought to be real.
Let us establish ourselves upon the rock of Truth. Let us speak and think and feel only that which is good and true. In so doing, we are building a heaven around us—and it will not fade away.
Make today a special time to be thankful that God is, that God is good, and that you are God’s beloved child.
Thanksgiving is more than a yearly holiday, more than special company and the enjoyment of a big meal—it is an attitude of mind. When practiced, the giving of thanks generates an invisible activity that brings untold blessings into one’s life.
According to Cicero, “A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, it is the parent of all other virtues.” Through our practice of giving thanks, we are assured of the unfoldment of spiritual qualities. Such attributes as love, joy, peace, prosperity, and health are enhanced by a mind and heart replete with thanksgiving.
Today and every day, may you be filled with the invigorating joy of God’s presence and power!

If we constantly find ourselves surrounded by companions we don’t really admire—if we seem to always become involved with weak or negative people—perhaps it is time to take inventory of ourselves. We attract what we are. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner secret self.
This being true, it is quite obvious what needs to take place if we desire a better set of circumstances and a higher type of companions, isn’t it? We must establish within ourselves a sense of harmony and a deep desire for good. We must love life, integrity, peace, and good in every form.
As we become one with these, our life and affairs will express them. Others of like mind will gravitate toward us. We are lifted up, not by outer means, but by a true desire for good, deep within our being. When this desire for good is strong enough, nothing can hold it from us.
