Hope

I EXPECT GOD TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE. I AM OPEN AND RECEPTIVE TO DIVINE INSTRUCTION AND GUIDANCE.

There is no such thing as a hopeless situation. The things that seem impossible are likely not—if we will sincerely look to God for answers.

There is nothing that God cannot do. Pray for the right solution to your seemingly impossible situation. Pray for divine guidance and inspiration. God will tell you just what you need to know or do, but you must listen.

After you have prayed, listen for an idea that will come to your mind. It will come! Then it is up to you to act upon the idea. Sometimes our answer may be to wait patiently upon the Lord. Guidance from God will bring about the right solution to your apparently hopeless situation. Nothing is impossible if you are willing to receive God’s answer. Are you?

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Self-improvement

I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY ABILITY TO FACE MY NEGATIVE QUALITIES AND TO CORRECT THEM.

You can learn how to get rid of any negative qualities you may have. These are primarily habits, and they can be changed if you make the necessary effort.

Never call attention to your negative qualities. That is usually the first step in making excuses for your behavior. Don’t tell others about your shortcomings—be honest with yourself instead. Then go to work and make changes.

If, for example, you believe yourself to be dull and uninteresting, ask why. Perhaps you have neglected to read and keep up with new thoughts and ideas. Start on a daily program of reading and stick with it.

If you are timid, start taking the initiative when you interact with others. Put them at ease. Give out of the loving spirit that is within you.

If you find that you don’t successfully complete your work, release the belief in failure. Plan for success and you’ll get it. Establish goals and start toward them. Substitute achievement for failure.

Negative qualities can be changed once you admit to yourself that they exist. Your personality is the outpicturing of your consciousness—and you can change your consciousness. You can make it positive and good.

Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12)

Abundant Living

I give thanks for my ability to live a happy and constructive life.

A way has been provided for you to live a happy, constructive life. Life happens not to us, but through us. Our life is primarily the result of our wise or unwise mental and physical activities.

All things come forth as a result of an orderly process. When we learn to align ourselves with this orderly process, we will live a meaningful, happy life. Remind yourself often of the following four steps and practice them daily:

1. Purposeful planning. A good life is not built without a plan. Give serious thought and attention to your purpose in life and to ways you may attain that purpose.

2. Prepare prayerfully. Prayer will open your mind to inspiration, ideas, and understanding. God will provide you with insight. Prayer will enable you to draw upon God’s inexhaustible power.

3. Proceed positively. Do those things that are yours to do in a firm, positive manner. Avoid being influenced by the negativity or discouragement of others. Keep moving ahead.

4. Be persistent and enthusiastic. Spasmodic efforts count for little. Go after what you want in life with vigor and enthusiasm. Day after day, do what needs to be done in order to attain your ultimate goals. Refuse to give in to laziness, boredom, or unhappiness.

Follow these four steps, depending on God to guide you, and you will live a happy, constructive life.

And I will always guide you and satisfy you with good things. I will keep you strong and well. You will be like a garden that has plenty of water, like a spring of water that never goes dry. (Isaiah 58:11)

Centered in God

I LET GO OF FEAR AND ALL FALSE EMOTIONS. I CENTER MYSELF IN THE AWARENESS OF DIVINE SPIRIT. I AM AT PEACE WITHIN AND IN HARMONY WITH ALL.

How many people are living in mortal fear right at this moment? We have no way of knowing, for sometimes fear isn’t even recognized as such—but the figure is bound to be staggering. We have only to tally the number of people in court battles, hospitals, and mental health facilities, plus those living in other conditions of inharmony, in order to realize this. Fear is the root of many error conditions. Fear actually denotes lack of faith in the power and presence of God. Where the presence of God is recognized, there can be no fear.

God is everywhere present. God is in all. What is there to fear? These words of Truth are beautiful indeed, but we have not yet fully accepted them. God is present. God is in all. When we know this, there will be no fear. In the awareness of the presence of God, we are free from all negative conditions; we are relieved of all lack and all limitation. We function at our highest level. When we are able to live in the awareness of God’s presence constantly, we will know only perfect good.

The Lord said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33:14)

Prosperity

I HAVE FAITH IN THE LIMITLESS ABUNDANCE OF GOD THAT NOW FILLS MY LIFE.

Do you sometimes find yourself striving and straining to make ends meet? We tend to limit our prosperity by thinking in terms of just a certain amount and no more.

Build a prosperity consciousness—an awareness that God is the Source of all good, and that God’s good for you is unlimited.

If you are in a troubled state of mind over your financial affairs, give thanks that God’s wisdom guides you in using what you have. If you need more money, give thanks that you are building a new awareness of prosperity based on the unfailing source of all supply—God. Be willing for your mind to expand and see beyond that certain amount. Affirm daily that you have faith in God’s limitless supply that now prospers you.

God is our one Source. As we have faith in God, ways and means will open so that good in increasing form will come to us.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. (II Corinthians 9:8)
