Christmas Eve

THE INNER LIGHT OF THE CHRIST GUIDES MY WAY AND BRINGS GREAT JOY TO ME AND TO MY WORLD.

To celebrate Christmas, we express our love and goodwill through greeting cards, gifts, food, sharing, and fellowship with family and friends, and by helping those less fortunate. Yet these things in themselves are incomplete and may leave us with the “let-down” feeling so commonly experienced during or after Christmas.

“Though Christ a thousand times
In Bethlehem be born
If He is not born in thee
Thy soul is all forlorn.”

In the Christmas story, a brilliant, shining star guided the wise men to the place of the child’s birth. Let us remember that within each of us is a guide that will lead the way for us to discover and respond to the Christ child. It is not enough to recognize the star—we must follow where it leads. Our star will lead to a closer walk with God as we journey forward to follow the divine will and purpose.

They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was. (Matthew 2:9)

Answers to Prayer

Lord, I am grateful for youR constant readiness to answer my prayers. I pray expectantly and receive my heart’s desire.

God is not limited; therefore, God is not concerned with “conditions” in answering our prayers.

How often do we short-circuit our answers to prayer by a “What’s the use?” attitude? After all, we falsely reason, how can we expect God to heal that which has been declared incurable, or take care of all the opposition, or get past all the obstacles?

Stop allowing these “conditions” residence within your mind. It is never too late or too soon, too far or too near, too hard or too easy, too big or too little for God. God can do anything, anywhere, at anytime.

With God all things are possible. Decide now to demonstrate success, health, happiness, pleasant relationships, and any other good you choose. You can, for God is working through you right now to bring these things about.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All power in heaven and on earth is given to me.” (Matthew 28:18)

Desire

I give thanks for God’s unlimited abundance of good everywhere present.

What is your desire? God’s unlimited supply of good is ours for the asking. Why do we sometimes hesitate to ask? Perhaps it is because we do not know what we really want. We change our minds before we ever arrive the point of asking. This is probably fortunate, for many would ask for things that are not suitable or wise. We are prone to desire, at times, what our friends have. We may think we want something for our personal happiness or our sense of security, but we are bound to be disappointed it we ask for these reasons alone.

We are told in Scripture that in order to receive our good, we must believe that we will receive. Deep within us we must believe that what we ask for is good for us. We ask most wisely when we do not limit the sources or the amount. Say, “This, Lord—or something better or more suitable for me at this time.”

Trust God to send the very best at the right time for your enrichment and growth. God’s wisdom is perfect. God’s timing is always in divine order. Give thanks for God’s unlimited abundance of good everywhere present.

Find your delight in the Lord who will give you your heart’s desire. (Psalm 37:4)

Peace

GOD FILLS MY HEART WITH THE PERFECT PEACE OF JESUS CHRIST.

How can we achieve inner peace? At times our thoughts and emotions are in active combat, but we can learn to control them. This is not always easy. When we feel ourselves losing control of our emotions, we must take immediate action.

Know that there is a place of perfect peace within, and this perfect peace is only a thought away. We can turn our thoughts Godward, resting in the calm center within, and quickly be restored. Peace is not passive. It is a powerful, active state of being which overcomes any seeming confusion or turmoil.

True peace is of God. When we live in the constant awareness of our unity with God, we radiate peace to all around us. We bring understanding where there was hurt, love where there was hate, order where there was confusion, forgiveness where there was resentment. For us to have peace on earth, it must begin within each human heart.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7)
