After looking up a much-used address over a period of time, suddenly one day we surprise ourselves by knowing it. Never again do we need to refer to the files!
There may also be periods in our life when we need to keep feeding into our mind affirmations of truth. Our inner self does not seem to remember a truth until it is held in our mind and heart for a period of time. Once believed, however, a truth thought then becomes a vital part of our being.
Thoughts of truth are food for the soul. Through spiritual feeding, our souls unfold and develop. We become a step closer to claiming our true spiritual self—a self that is free and unlimited in every way.
Suppose you choose some thought for spiritual food right now. It could be simply: “I am a child of God” or “God fills my every need.” Just as we may add a little dash of seasoning to our food for the body, thus making it suit us, so may we word our truth thoughts. Use your own descriptive words. Let them seep into the depths of your being, awakening the truth that already lies within you.
Are you in a situation that you would rather not be in, such as an unpleasant job or relationship? Perhaps you have been concentrating on the negatives, which has closed your mind to the possibilities. The Spirit of God is guiding you, and there are great possibilities where you are.
The classic story, Acres of Diamonds, by Russell H. Conwell tells of a man obsessed with the desire to make a fortune by discovering diamonds. He sold his successful farm and spent the rest of his life in search of the elusive jewels. Later it was discovered that the very farm he sold became one of the richest diamond mines in history. What he sought, literally, had always been in his own backyard. Don’t be like him.
Do not give up on the possibilities of your current situation. Look for the good and believe it is there. Where you are now may be the training ground for a greater opportunity in the future. So, stick to it and look for the possibilities.

The most revealing evidence of what we actually believe is what we act upon. We often profess to have faith in God, but in times of need find that we only go to God as a last resort.
When outer circumstances and events do not conform to our way of thinking and believing, do we attempt to force these conditions into our desired pattern? Or do we acknowledge that maybe our own consciousness has brought these events about? How we answer that question will determine what we actually believe.
Do you believe in God’s love and ability to make all things good? Do you have faith that prayer is the most effective means of changing conditions in your life? In crisis do you turn to God or do you go back to your human way of fear and worry? Develop a strong, positive faith in God that you know you can and will act upon.
Have you ever been disappointed in yourself because of a negative attitude or action? Nearly everyone has these distressing moments.
Such behavior is due to the accumulated negativity that has stabled itself within the subconscious mind. Reactions come automatically. A cleansing of the mind and heart is needed.
Take time daily to commune with God. Put outer things from your thoughts and think about God’s love, life, and power. As your mind and heart are opened they will be filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. The activity of this Spirit will cleanse you of all that is unlike the nature of God.
Your actions and reactions will become more loving and Christ-like as you take time to rest in the presence of God each day.

Often we get up and perform our morning duties without thought. We may have done some of the same tasks for so long that we act almost as robots. We may even read a Daily Blessing message or repeat a favorite affirmation without really giving full attention, and thus full power, to the words.
It is important to give our whole attention to the task at hand. There is always a new way to do what we have been doing in the same old way for years—and a fresh attitude will seem to make things different even if performed in the same manner.
Don’t drag through your days only half alive—put your “all” into whatever is at hand and experience the exhilaration of life!
