Doing Your Best

GOD GIVES ME THE POWER TO DO MY BEST.

To get the best out of life, you must give your best to life.

When it appears that you have done all you can do, when your capacities seem to come to an end, God takes over—and with God all things are possible. God gives you wisdom beyond your conscious knowledge. God gives you strength beyond your physical endurance. God gives you courage instead of weakness.

As you do your part, as you work to improve your mental, spiritual, and physical abilities, you will be a ready and willing channel for God. When you work to the utmost of your abilities, God will then expand your capacity for even greater accomplishments.

Whatever you begin, do it with your whole heart. As you give more to everything, you will gain better results in the form of success, prosperity, and a feeling of well-being.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, (Colossians 3:23)

Education

I AM A STUDENT ON THE PATHWAY OF LlFE.

Many people feel a sense of insecurity because they believe their education is inadequate. Lack of formal education has been used an excuse for almost everything. Yet, it is a totally false explanation for failure.

Education comprises the sum total of what we know. It does not consist in just attending school or college. We can do a great deal toward self-education through reading, studying, observing, listening, and reflecting. Refuse to go through life lazily, with eyes that don’t see and ears that don’t hear.

True education takes effort and self-discipline as we work to overcome idle, careless habits. Refuse to accept a present weakness as lasting. Work to overcome it. Exercise your mental and spiritual muscles. Do the things you need to do to overcome your sense of inadequacy and insecurity. Remember that through the activity of Christ in you, you can become the person you want to be.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

Divine Law

I give thanks that THE law of abundant good is at work now. I give thanks for the awareness that my good comes from God.

Do you believe that someone else can deprive you of your good, that someone can keep from you that which belongs to you? Such a belief should be dismissed from your mind, for it is not true. No one can stand between you and your good, nor between you and God. There is a divine law of justice that is above human laws. This law is sure and unfailing. It can be depended upon.

If you find yourself thinking you have been unjustly treated, change your thinking. Affirm that God’s law of justice is at work in your life and affairs, and that your good is secure forever in God.

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. (Deuteronomy 32:4)

Greatness

I praise and give thanks for the Spirit of God within me. I diligently and persistently learn to express THE HIGHEST AND BEST.

Are you settling for mediocrity in life? Are you just going along in an average, ordinary way, sort of lukewarm? Or are you taking the time and making the effort to cultivate that seed of greatness that God implanted within you?

Are you inclined to give up or give in, settling for less than the best in life?

There is no need to do so. You have the God-given ability to experience the best that life has to give. You are greater than the things that happen to you. You need not, nor should you, settle for less than you desire in life.

Keeping working toward greater things. You have the seed of greatness within you. Cultivate it. Great good is in store for you. You are a child of God, an offspring of the powerful, loving, creative Spirit of the universe. This means that you have inherited the very nature of God. Let this nature be expressed through you now.

Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. (Matthew 13:32)

Conditions

I release all thoughts of confusion, inharmony, and unrest. I hold true thoughts of life, health, and harmony.

How silly we would be to blame a pencil for what is written! Yet we often blame outer conditions for what we are experiencing. The pencil is merely an instrument we use to put our thoughts and feelings on paper. So it is with our world of experience—we only meet that which we have called forth. Maybe we don’t like it. Perhaps now we see the mistake we made by a wrong choice.

How do we change our unhappy experiences into ones of harmony? Simply by changing our thoughts and feelings. We must let go of all that is false and hold steadfastly to the Truth. We must know that God is always at work within us. Sometimes our outer world changes in a flash. At other times we see a pattern of change unfolding. You can be certain your outer world will change the very same moment you change within.

May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. (Luke 11:2)
