Call on God

Thank you, God, for the awareness of your ever-abiding Presence.

Suppose you were out in a boat that tipped over. As you hit the water, what would you do? Sink or swim? If you are not a swimmer, someone might hear your cries for help and come to your aid. Perhaps after this experience, some swimming lessons would be in order!

At times our own thoughts and emotions toss us into a sea of turmoil. Do we sink deeper into self-pity by thrashing out wildly in despair and complaining, or can we swim our way out through prayer? Spiritual help is always available.

God has promised us, “Though you have wandered far away, if you will call, I will hear.” So if you are ever about to “go down”—call on God. We will be held up by a life buoy of divine love, as we learn how to save ourselves from our error thinking through the power of prayer.

So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. (Matthew 14:29)

Spiritual Dominion

I AM A CHILD OF GOD. I HAVE DOMINION OVER EVERY LIMITING HABIT.

You are a child of God; therefore, you have dominion over every limiting habit. No longer think of yourself as subject to any adverse habit that pushes you around, limiting your free expression.

God has endowed you with wisdom and strength to achieve dominion and mastery. No matter what pressures you are under, regardless of what temptations come your way, assert your spiritual dominion. It does not matter if your habits are long-standing. God is not influenced by time.

Assert your spiritual dominion. God’s power is strong within you. It gives you the help you need at the time you need it.

Whenever you feel like giving in to an old habit, call upon God’s power within you. No habit has power over God. Continue to trust God and you will be free.

No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for human beings. But God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. (I Corinthians 10:13)

Wholehearted

I GIVE FULLY AND FREELY OF MYSELF. I SAY “YES” TO OPPORTUNITES TO SERVE AND GROW.

Through your attitudes and actions today, you are saying “yes” or “no” to new opportunities. To give freely, fully, and wholeheartedly of our efforts is to say “yes” to success and achievement.

When we let down in our efforts—become indifferent, bored, or glum—we are saying “no” to success and achievement. People who achieve real and lasting success are those who give freely of themselves toward any given opportunity.

Lose yourself in the expression of the qualities and abilities that God has placed within you. Enjoy and participate in all opportunities that come your way for service. Thus your horizons broaden and new doors of achievement, expression, and success are opened.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24)

First Things First

I DO FIRST THINGS FIRST. CENTERED IN THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF GOD’S PRESENCE, I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD.

What is the most important time of your day? The moment of signing an important contract, the closing of a big deal, the making of a sale, or perhaps simply a pleasant visit with a friend?

While any one of these may seem to be the highlight of your day, the most important is time spent in the quiet of prayer and meditation, for this determines what the rest of your hours will bring forth. The period of preparation is always the most valuable. Many of our mistakes are direct results of not reading or following the directions, or in some way not being adequately prepared to perform the task.

Prepare yourself for success through spiritual communion with the Father within. Enfolded in the knowledge of God’s love and protection, we can meet any condition that arises.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

The Nearness of God

THE NEARNESS OF GOD IS MY GOOD.

God never leaves us, not even for an instant, although we have the choice to step away from God in our thoughts and feelings.

When we focus on the seeming power of disease, lack, or limitation, we are leaving the conscious awareness of God’s presence. When we are afraid or anxious about conditions, we are blocking the flow of Divine Love that would guide us into safety if we only asked. When we act selfishly, we are forgetting that God created each of us and can provide for every need.

Each time we leave God in our thoughts or deeds, we leave our good. God is always with us, but we must be aware of the divine presence in order to experience perfect good, peace, and harmony. Isn’t it wonderful to know that we can turn to God in the wink of an eye? As Tennyson wrote, “Closer is He than breathing, and nearer than hands or feet.”

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good. (Psalm 73:28)
