I GIVE THANKS FOR MY GROWING AWARENESS OF GOD’S OMNIPRESENCE

When we are in deep meditation or prayer, we are quite aware of the presence of God, yet in truth, God is with us at all times. God is with us on the highway, at the conference table, on the job, and during the moments of our many daily challenges —just as much as during our times of prayer.

We must know this. It will make all the difference in our world. It will take the pressure off of us as we make decisions and are confronted by others. Life is so much more meaningful and enjoyable as we let God express through us all of the time.

We must constantly remind ourselves that we are temples of God, that God is the life within us. We are never apart from God—never. Yet our thoughts can play tricks on us and sometimes lead us to falsely believe that we are helpless and alone. This is not so!

Let us know the truth—the truth that God dwells within us constantly. That is the truth that sets us free!

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
(Psalm 139:7–12)

Master Yourself

THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF THE CREATIVE SPIRIT OF GOD IN ME, I MASTER MYSELF.

Are you the master of yourself? You can be.

Your mind is a mold from which your thoughts and feelings, and thus your world, emanate. If you are dissatisfied with your life as you are presently experiencing it, change the pattern of mind that is producing it.

Imagine yourself as being the master of your life. See yourself as what you want to be. See yourself in the presence of others with poise and self-assurance. See yourself as being successful in all phases of your living. See yourself as a dynamic, enthusiastic master of life—being, doing, having, and enjoying what you choose.

You are what you think you are. Select the pattern of thinking for your mind if you would master life.

Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. (I Corinthians 9:25)

Right Outworking

I have unshakeable faith in the perfect outworking of everything in my life, for I know that God is in charge.

In all situations there are possibilities for good if we will look for them. All things contain a blessing.

Place your faith in God. Have confidence in God’s power to make things right. This will release you from stress and strain. Grasp the opportunities before you and turn every experience into a blessing. Reach right out into the events of life and bring forth the potential for good.

All things contain the element of good at their source, but the source must be tapped. Do this by placing your faith in God. Look beyond the appearance to the good that is there. Have a sure, strong, powerful conviction that there is a right outworking for every situation.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. (I Chronicles 16:34)

Quiet Spirit

IN QUIETNESS, I AM CALM AND UNDISTURBED. I AM GRATEFUL FOR GOD’S LOVING, HEALING SPIRIT IN ME.

Many difficulties in the world are the result of hurt feelings and concern about what other people say and do. Why should we let the problems of others become our own?

So what if your neighbor acts unneighborly? So what if someone doesn’t take your advice? So what if someone seems preferred before you? These things do not really matter. Not one of them is essential to your well-being. Don’t worry yourself by pretending that they are important. Why should your emotions be at the mercy of other people?

To fear loss, to be hurt, to bemoan the actions of others will simply attract more things that correspond to these inner thoughts and feelings. Find a place of quietness within yourself where you can remain calm and undisturbed. Then seek only the good, the Kingdom of God in you, and you will attract life, peace, and plenty.

But none of these things move me. (Acts 20:24)

Called Upon

Lord, I long to serve You. I am listening. I am ready for Your instruction. Send me, LORD, and use me.

How eager children are to be called upon—to run an errand, to be given a special task to do. Those who truly love children wisely give them tasks to do, encouraging their self-reliance and character growth.

As we grow into maturity, we sometimes forget the pleasure of being “called upon.” We are called upon daily by Spirit within. Our Father loves us and wants us to have the opportunity for spiritual growth. There are many tasks to do—many errands to run—which would develop our spiritual nature. The offer is made, but we are never forced.

We must stand in readiness, with the eagerness of a small child, with the words of Isaiah in our hearts: “Here am I. Send me.”

I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)
