Do you often think about how much better tomorrow will be than today? Do you plan to live more freely when you have more time, when the children are older, or you have more money? Such thinking indicates that we are indeed postponing living. It is unlikely that life will be better or more enjoyable at that future time—unless we change our attitudes.
Let us be alert and enthusiastic in our present circumstances. Remember that today is important to the continual process of our life. Living each day to its fullest will lead us more quickly to the fulfillment of our dreams.
Take a day’s vacation from worry, depression, and frustration.
Begin your day by affirming the presence of God. Know that God is surrounding you. Know that you cannot remove yourself from the presence of God. Image yourself moving through the day in a glowing circle of spiritual light. See other people surrounded with this spiritual light. This helps remove any cross feelings you may have had toward them in the past.
Even as you perform the simplest tasks, affirm the presence of God. As you begin the day, know that the Presence is with you. As you travel to work or to an appointment, know that you do not travel alone. As you converse with others, allow God to use your voice for good.
At the end of a day that has been filled with the conscious awareness of God, we are rested, relaxed, and at peace. This is a true vacation, isn’t it? And it never has to end. All of our days can and should be beautiful experiences in living.
