Beyond Appearances

I GIVE THANKS FOR MY ABILITY TO SEE BEYOND APPEARANCES, AND I BEHOLD THE PRESENCE OF GOD!

Have you ever seen so many things wrong that you wondered where the good could be? If you close the drapes or blinds in every room, no matter how bright and sunny it is outside, your house will be dark and gloomy.

To remedy the situation you would simply need to open the drapes or blinds for the light to pour in and make the house bright and cheerful.

Even when it seems that evil is all about us, that everything is wrong, let us not be deceived. Jesus said, “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Evil is only a result of false beliefs about good. We can change the appearance of evil by affirming the presence of God—which is the presence of good. No matter what the appearance, God is there. And where God is, there is good.

We may close God out if we allow the windows of our soul to be darkened by false beliefs and negative concepts. Refrain from judging by appearances and instead know that God is here, and wherever God is, good is.

God is light and in him is no darkness at all. (John 1:5)

Faith Works!

TODAY, ALL MY WORDS AND DEEDS EXPRESS MY FAITH IN GOD’S INFINITE GOODNESS AND POWER.

Jesus said, “Have faith in God.” The good news is that you already have faith; it is one of your special attributes. Now all you must do is to center it in God.

Your faith is vital and alive. It will sustain you in every situation. It grows and expands and strengthens as you exercise it. Every day, look for ways to express your faith in God.

Have faith in God’s provision for your healthy body. You have been created by divine intelligence. Therefore, do not fear illness or disease. Refuse to talk about physical weakness.

Have faith in others. Behold God’s Spirit in every person you meet. Do not look for wrongs. Use good judgment in all dealings with others, knowing that Christ is in them. Have faith in God’s law of growth and progress. Do not be discouraged when things take a different turn from what you had anticipated. Good will come through in a perfect way for you.

Have faith in God—faith enough to venture into new areas and unfamiliar situations. God will guide you and good will result.

Have faith in God! It works!

Your faithfulness endures to all generations. (Psalm 119:90)

Divine Law

I GIVE THANKS THAT DIVINE LAW IS PERFECT AND UNFAILING.

Sometimes we may wonder why one prospers and another does not, why some seem to be favored while others struggle to survive. Let us remember that God has given each of us the same laws to live by. We are all one in Spirit at the Source, yet through our power of thought each person has developed differently.

We may use our power of thought freely—to bring about peace or discord, health or disease,¬ abundance or lack. Universal laws are the same for all. Therefore, let us learn to think wisely and bring forth into our lives only that which is good and true.

We must discard all error beliefs that some are favored and some are not. We are equal in our share of potential good, but it is up to us to bring it forth. Each of us can choose our thoughts, our feelings, and our desires. Give thanks that Divine Law is perfect and never fails.

For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. (Matthew 5:45)

Work with Joy

I AM HAPPY AND SUCCESSFUL IN MY WORK, AND I RADIATE JOY AND GOODWILL.

Do you go to work each day with an attitude of joy? Do you feel good about what you bring to your world? Do you radiate happiness as you give of yourself in purposeful activity?

Work gives you an opportunity to express your talents and abilities. Learn to focus your attention on the good things it offers. Examine your reactions to the circumstances and people around you. Make sure your attitude is positive and pleasant. Successful workers hold thoughts that produce happiness and cheerfulness. The prosperous person radiates joy and goodwill.

Your work, your co-workers, and all the surrounding circumstances will reflect the attitude that you are radiating.

To You, O Lord, belongs steadfast love, for you reward all people according to their work. (Psalm 62:12)

Accomplishment

I ACCOMPLISH THE THINGS THAT ARE MINE TO DO IN ORDER AND ON TIME.

The longer we delay doing something that needs to be done, the more difficult it is to complete. Unfinished tasks distract our attention and slow us down.

If you are inclined to put things off, to keep letting things slide, take a stand now and affirm that you are through with procrastination. You can be done with old habits by developing new ones.

As you establish order in your living and thinking, you will have a greater sense of freedom and well-being. A feeling of fulfillment will be yours as you gather up the loose ends of your life and develop consistency and order in your activities. The energy that comes from completing the things you have been putting off will help propel you into productivity and success.

Behold, now is the accepted time. (II Corinthians 6:2)
