Happiness

I am happy, for I know that God is here, right where I am. I give thanks for this wonderful awareness.

What is happiness? One person’s concept may be quite different from another’s. To some the greatest happiness comes by sharing a special talent with the world. Others may find happiness in communing with the beauty of nature, in friendships, in being with people, or in being alone.

Actually, happiness is the by-product of knowing and feeling the presence of God. In whatever activity we are momently involved, we are happy if it reveals God’s presence more clearly to us.

This explains the mystery of why many people are truly happy, yet do not seem to have what the world thinks is necessary for happiness. This also explains why others, while possessing that which the world believes should bring happiness, are nevertheless miserable.

God is the source of all good. When we dwell in the conscious awareness of God’s presence, we will know happiness.

These things have I spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. (John 15:11)

Wake Up to Your Dream

I DELIGHT IN THE DAWNING OF EACH NEW DAY.

If you do not expect some good in every day, if you do not greet each morning with enthusiasm and expectancy, then you are not truly enjoying the life God has given you.

What is the remedy for a dull, sluggish attitude? Start by getting a clear mental picture of your desires. What would you most like to do? What would make you jump out of bed in the morning in eager anticipation? Whatever it is—do it!

No matter how small, taking the first step can inspire you to continue working on your dream. Many do nothing because they cannot visualize the end result. Most of the time, our dreams unfold in an orderly manner, growing from a small seed, which we have planted in faith and love. Thus, a flowerbox in a window becomes a prosperous nursery; a page written each day becomes a book; an idea acted upon becomes an invention.

Awaken the God-given dream within yourself, and start it on its way. You will experience joy and satisfaction. You will delight in the dawning of each new day.

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

Enthusiasm

I GIVE THANKS FOR MY PERPETUAL ENTHUSIASM. I HAVE FAITH TO DO THOSE THINGS THAT OUGHT TO BE DONE BY ME.

To be enthusiastic—to enjoy the tasks life presents to you, rather than dragging yourself through them—is the difference between living and merely existing.

Many of our great creative workers devoted long hours to their jobs, yet they were not driving themselves in the exhausting, negative way that people today often do. Edison worked eighteen to twenty hours a day. He was so absorbed and fascinated with his projects that they weren’t work to him. Through this steadfast power of effort, coupled with enthusiasm, Edison changed the world for the better.

Your day, your work, and your world will be changed and made new as you put intense interest and enthusiasm into what you are doing.

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands. (Psalm 90:17)

Seed of Greatness

I praise and give thanks for the Spirit of God within me. I diligently and persistently learn to express it.

Are you settling for mediocrity in life? Are you just going along in an average, ordinary way, sort of lukewarm? Or are you taking the time and making the effort to cultivate that seed of greatness that God implanted within you?

Are you inclined to give up or give in, settling for less than the best in life?

There is no need to do so. You have the God-given ability to experience the best that life has to give. You are greater than the things that happen to you. You need not, nor should you, settle for less than you desire in life.

Keeping working toward greater things. You have the seed of greatness within you. Cultivate it. Great good is in store for you. You are a child of God, an offspring of the powerful, loving, creative Spirit of the universe. This means that you have inherited the very nature of God. Let this nature be expressed through you now.

Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree. (Matthew 13:32)

Time

I work efficiently and effectively with joy and enthusiasm this day.

Lack of time is not the problem we think it is. We all have the same amount of time. How well we use our time is the key to how well we get along in life. People who are using their time constructively take no time to talk about their lack of it.

Time is a segment of eternity to be lived fully, free from bondage to the past or future. Wasted time is wasted life.

Instead of deliberating, dreading, and thinking about what needs to be done, do the thing you decide is most important to do. Learn to use constructively the leftover bits and pieces of time in your day.

Take time to live—your secret of success.
Take time to think—the source of power.
Take time to play—the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read—a foundation of knowledge and wisdom.
Take time to pray—the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love—in order to be loved.

Yes, there is time for you to do all you want to do. Use your time wisely.

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. (Proverbs 21:5)
